Do you ever study yourself?

As a photographer, model, and writer, I find myself doing just that. If I am taking a self-portrait, I not only work with the creative direction of the shot – setting it up, composing it like music, perhaps. But I have to adapt my own movements and facial expressions to fit the scene. Most of the time it means no smiling.

Most of the time, I prefer my shots to be taken at a wide angle (so between 18-24 mm) on my entry-level DSLR camera. I rarely take close up shots. On this blog, these photography-related posts will act as my portfolio. I will share self portraits; I will share some photos from my travels; and I will share anything that I consider I did well. They will be my personal best, and likely I will only share three photos at a time. Until I figure some other things out, I won’t share links to the fashion. If you are interested, I may consider taking that approach.
