“Country roads, take me home” ~John Denver
Driving down the country roads in Troms County in Norway was incredible and captivating. Small fishing villages dot the coastlines; it’s a picturesque landscape. Undoubtedly quiet.
Who wouldn’t want to listen to some John Denver on these roads?

I wonder if anyone has translated that song into Norwegian.

Not quite sure, I have connected with a few friends in Norway now to find out. I would like to translate my book project into Norwegian too, especially since it’s inspired by friluftsliv.

Hi again,
For older generations it is necessary for the translation; for younger generations it’s not necessary. You can find one of them sung in Norwegian on YouTube here: https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu2kIGIxuY. It’s by Christian and Stein Ingerbrigsten. Also check out http://www.beatravelling.com for more on Norway.

I just got back from Norway. On a bus in Lofoten, a group of teenagers broke out and sang this song. Then at a Bergen bar, it was requested and played twice by the man playing guitar there. This prompted me to run this seach and find this sight. There must be more to it.

As I reflected on my own travels, this song definitely came to mind. Thanks for sharing!
